Team Leader – Cleaning

Location: Watford
Salary: £30-32k pa

Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, 2pm to 10pm
Start date: ASAP

Full UK Driving License required

Who we’re looking for

A sharp, detail-driven, team leader with a passion for delivering top tier service, a person who is used to working in a fast-paced environment where every day brings a new challenge, this is a diverse, hands‑on role where you'll support frontline teams to ensure we exceed service expectations and build strong relationships with clients and employees alike.

Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Leadership
  • Receive and action handovers from the morning team and facilitate a smooth handover to the evening team
  • Ensure the afternoon team is performing their roles to expected standards
  • Delegate jobs fairly between team members based on skills and workloads
  • Provide clear communication and support to team members throughout the shift
  • Track and assess team performance, providing feedback and recognising achievements
  • Carry out weekly payroll duties
Operational Delivery
  • Carry out cleaning duties if required as part of the team on‑site
  • Conduct spot checks and site visits to maintain service quality
  • Sign off completed jobs with clients
  • Visit job sites to gather information for quoting purposes
  • Drive across sites to ensure all teams are meeting expectations
Client & Management Communication
  • Liaise between the Account Manager and staff to relay updates or instructions
  • Communicate with clients professionally and clearly
  • Handle complaints quickly and effectively, ensuring follow‑up actions are taken to prevent recurrence
Recruitment & Development
  • Assist with recruitment by participating in face‑to‑face interviews
  • Help onboard and train new starters
  • Support in disciplinary investigations, including note‑taking and evidence gathering
Compliance & Safety
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety procedures and site requirements
  • Report and address any concerns or non‑conformities promptly
  • Conduct toolbox talks with the team.
