A local service provider is seeking a Cleaner to join their team in Norwich. The role involves routine and non-routine cleaning tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high cleanliness standards and team communication. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential. Previous cleaning experience is preferred. This part-time role offers 6 hours per week with a strong focus on safety and reliability.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner (Norwich market toilets) to join the Norwich City Services Limited (NCSL) team for 6 hours per week (Sunday 10am-4pm). If you are highly organised, detail‑oriented, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
This role involves carrying out both routine and non‑routine cleaning tasks in line with scheduled work and cleaning specifications. The postholder will be responsible for the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and products, following all training provided. A strong focus on safety is essential, ensuring that personal conduct does not put colleagues, customers, or the public at risk. The role requires delivering a high‑quality cleaning service, adhering to cleaning schedules and deadlines, and completing all necessary paperwork, including daily vehicle defect logbooks. Clear communication with the management team is expected to report any concerns, issues, or faults. The postholder will also be required to operate various cleaning machinery, such as buffers, carpet machines, and ride‑on scrubber dryers, and perform any other duties as needed to support the service.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar cleaning role and demonstrate a high standard of customer service. They must be an excellent communicator, capable of understanding both verbal and written instructions, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail, reliability, good time‑keeping, and consistent attendance are essential qualities. The ability to follow Health and Safety instructions is crucial, with knowledge of Health and Safety requirements considered desirable. BICSc training or qualifications would also be advantageous.
