Position Summary

The Class A Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of materials, tools, and equipment between warehouses, vendors, and job sites. This role requires prior dump truck experience and supports Pike’s field operations by ensuring materials arrive safely, on time, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Safety & Compliance

Operate Class A vehicles in full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.

Maintain accurate driver logs and required documentation per state and federal regulations.

Ensure job sites, warehouse areas, and equipment are kept clean, safe, and organized.

Driving & Transportation

Safely transport materials, equipment, and tools between warehouses, vendors, and job sites.

Operate dump trucks for hauling aggregate, soil, debris, and construction materials.

Load, secure, transport, and unload materials using appropriate equipment and methods.

Coordinate deliveries and pickups with supervisors and project teams to support schedules.

Warehouse & Equipment Support

Assist with loading/unloading using forklifts, loaders, and other equipment as required.

Support warehouse organization, inventory handling, and material staging.

Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance and minor repairs when able.

Assist with securing permits for oversized or overweight loads as needed.

Professional Conduct

Represent Pike with professionalism and a Professional Consulting Mindset Behavior (PCMB) when interacting with internal teams, vendors, and clients.

Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and collaboration in daily responsibilities.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Class A CDL with a current DOT Medical Card.

Dump truck driving experience required.

Minimum of 2 years of Class A driving experience preferred.

Experience with construction materials and job site operations strongly preferred.

Technical & Job Knowledge

Knowledge of construction equipment and materials.

Experience loading, securing, and transporting materials safely.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment checks and minor repairs.

Ability to read schedules, work orders, and delivery documentation.

Preferred Skills

Experience with lowboy and/or flatbed hauling.

Forklift or heavy equipment operation experience.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office familiarity a plus).
