A leading driving agency in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Class 2 HGV Driver + ADR (cylinders) to start immediately. This role offers competitive pay rates between £16.94 to £33.88 per hour, with guaranteed hours and additional performance bonuses. New drivers are welcome, and training for additional qualifications may be provided. Join us to deliver gas cylinders across East England during this seasonal contract until May 2026.

Qualifications

• Must have a UK HGV Cat C licence.
• Valid CPC and Digicard are required.
• An ADR licence for gases is mandatory.
• No more than 6 effective penalty points on driving record.
• No DG, DD, or IN endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver gas cylinder bottles to commercial and residential premises.
• Operate a Class 2 vehicle in compliance with regulations.
• Complete a written and driving assessment during the interview.

Class 2 HGV Driver + ADR (cylinders)

Pay rate: £16.94 – £33.88 per hour.

Contract type: Seasonal Contract.

Location: Bury St Edmunds.

Start date: ASAP.

We are looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver + ADR (cylinders) to start immediately for our growing client base across the IP postcode. Just passed? No problem – we welcome newly qualified drivers for this role too!

What you will receive:

• £16.94 PAYE basic rate (guaranteed 42.5 hrs)
• £25.41 PAYE overtime (after 42.5 hrs on weekdays)
• £33.88 PAYE weekend overtime (after 42.5 hrs on weekends)
• Up to £2,000 in performance bonuses
• 28 days holiday prorated on PAYE
• Upskilling to ADR or HIAB after satisfactory probation period

What to expect as a Class 2 HGV Driver + ADR (cylinders):

• Operating a Class 2 vehicle delivering gas cylinder bottles to commercial and residential premises across the East of England.
• This is a seasonal contract running through Christmas up to May 2026 with 42.5 guaranteed hours per week.
• Working Monday to Friday on typically 6‑7 am starts.
• Written and driving assessment will take place during the interview.
• At no cost to you, a basic DBS will be required.

As a Class 2 HGV Driver + ADR (cylinders) you must:

• UK HGV Cat C licence
• Valid CPC & Digicard
• ADR licence (class 2, gases)
• Have no more than 6 effective penalty points
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements
