Job summary

A leading food producer in the UK is seeking a Class 1 Hatchery Driver to collect and deliver eggs and chicks for their growing operations. This role is vital to ensure the quality and safety of products while complying with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a C+E licence and be self-motivated and flexible. About the Role

We are continuing to operate and are looking for motivated people to join our team as a Class 1 Hatchery Driver based at our Hatchery in Usselby, Lincoln. Working Hours

Days: Mon – Sat 06:00‑16:00 flexible. Some days might be longer or shorter due to travelling distance.

Purpose of the role

As a Class 1 Driver the purpose of this role is to safely collect and deliver eggs from the breeder farms to the hatchery and deliver chicks to both the company and contract broiler farms working within company and legislative standards.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Distribution of eggs from various breeder farms to the hatchery
  • Deliver chicks to company and contract broiler farms
  • Deliver eggs safely to the hatchery
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained continuously
  • Ensure the security of loads at all times
  • Ensure the correct protective equipment is worn as specified
  • Work effectively within the time schedules and within company and legislative standards and comply with the Working Time Directive
  • Present a professional image of the company on all farms and act as the company representative liaising with the site manager as required
What we are looking for:
  • A valid C+E licence plus CPC and tachograph card in date
  • 2 years’ experience in class 1 driving (desirable)
  • Live haul licence (desirable)
  • You must be self‑motivated, flexible, committed and reliable
  • You will be required to work independently on farm sites and lift equipment in the region of 20 kg
