£4,633 – £4,962 (6.5 hours per week, term‑time only)

Do you like working with children and want to make a difference? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Childcare Supervisor at Scone Breakfast Kids Club, term‑time, before school.

This role involves managing the day‑to‑day running of the service and a small staff team, planning and providing high‑quality play experiences for children in Primary 1‑7. The contracted hours are 6.5 hours per week, term‑time, between 7:52 am – 9:10 am.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and organise daily operations of the service.
  • Provide flexible childcare and a range of stimulating activities (arts and crafts, storytelling, den building, physical play).
  • Lead a small staff team and collaborate with the wider school team.
  • Maintain registration and financial information, and build effective relationships with children, parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Uphold a safe and inclusive environment during and outside school hours in a registered childcare service.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Child‑focused sensitivity, patience, compassion, and a welcoming approach.
  • Genuine interest in child development and wellbeing, with kindness, respect, good manners and a sense of fun.
  • Strong supervisory skills, excellent communication, ability to motivate and engage staff and children.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills, including maintaining registration and financial records.

Applicants must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 3 months of commencing employment and maintain annual membership. A childcare qualification is required: SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People), HNC Childhood Practice, HNC Childcare Early Education and Childcare, or SVQ Level 3 Care Learning & Development.
