Job Overview

Finkley Hudsons Field Nursery – Salisbury is looking for a Nursery Assistant Apprentice who will study toward an Early Years Educator Level 3. You’ll work with experienced early years professionals, gaining hands‑on skills in childcare, child development, and safeguarding. Care is provided for babies from 3 months to 5 years.

Day‑Day Responsibilities

• Complete the apprenticeship as outlined by your mentor
• Develop and maintain an educational play framework in line with the EYFS, supporting children to be safe while having fun
• Observe and support children’s learning
• Take responsibility for any designated “key children” within pre‑agreed timeframes
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with team members, advisory teachers and visiting agencies
• Use initiative to advance both the children’s development and the setting
• Follow nursery procedures and policies
• Be flexible within the setting’s working practices, including domestic duties such as snack preparation and cleaning
• Participate in out‑of‑working activities such as training, staff meetings, fundraising and social events
• Seek opportunities to utilise your skill set and pursue career advancement upon completion of the apprenticeship
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
