A leading maritime data organization is seeking a Chief Customer Officer to guide its customer-focused commercial strategy. The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is a world-leading centre for hydrography with over 230 years of experience. Our maritime data solutions support safe, secure and thriving oceans. We fulfil the UK government’s Safety of Life at Sea obligations and are relied upon by defence users, government and global shipping. Working with partners across the globe, we source, process and provide access to data from seabed to surface. This data is shared with a wide range of users to help unlock a deeper understanding of the world’s oceans and make the best of the marine environment.
Supporting safe navigation is at the heart of what we do. Through our ADMIRALTY portfolio, we provide a leading range of navigational products and services which are trusted by over 90% of large ships trading internationally today.
The Chief Customer Officer will be a full member of the UKHO’s Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the UKHO’s wider strategic direction and leadership, helping to shape the digital future of the organisation. The role leads the customer‑focused commercial strategy, including business development, customer experience and product strategy, satisfying our defence customer needs, whilst fulfilling our public task.
This role will sustain a healthy level of commercial returns from our established merchant shipping market, whilst developing adjacent markets that build out from core ADMIRALTY navigation business. We will exploit the potential of our data assets and expertise as we evolve into a fully digital service provider and data‑centric organisation.
