Contract & Hours

Permanent, 45 hours per week

Shifts

5 days from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. No split shifts.

Salary

£32,051 per annum with excellent benefits.

Welcome Bonus

One‑off Starter Bonus of £1,000, paid after completion of four weeks’ service and subject to tax and NI deductions. Ts & Cs apply.

Responsibilities
  • Cater to residents across the Village which comprises the care home, serviced suites, villagers who have booked a meal in the Restaurant/Spa, meals to be taken across to their apartments or for other specific events.
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Be aware of residents, villagers and Wellness Spa clients’ dietary needs – responding to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
  • Be involved in the preparation and serving of the meals on the hotplate, as required.
  • Ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable (high‑risk) goods.
  • Ensure a welcoming, safe and compliant environment for residents to dine in.
  • Help maintain a clean and hygienic working area.
Qualifications
  • Passion for food, with experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally catering for customers with special dietary requirements.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally with an NVQ or equivalent City & Guilds and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalent.
  • Innovative yet organised approach to cooking, adherence to high standards, and the ability to remain calm during a busy service.
  • Enjoyment of working with others and fostering collaborative teamwork.
