The role

As a Change Control Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of the Submarine Disposal and Dismantling Programme, ensuring that every change to the contract baseline is managed with precision and integrity. This is a role where your expertise will help maintain a robust Performance Management Baseline, supporting projects that are critical to national security.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead a team of Assistant Change Control Specialists, driving excellence and continuous improvement while shaping processes that make a real difference.

  • Chairing and managing key project change control meetings, including change reviews and impact reviews.
  • Evaluating changes to understand their impact on project baselines.
  • Enabling approved changes within programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with contract and performance baselines.
  • Collaborating across Project teams and disciplines to maintain accuracy and compliance.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and 2-3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Change Control Specialist
  • Strong understanding of Project Management and Controls principles.
  • Knowledge of assurance, change control and impact assessment methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications for the Change Control Specialist
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience (essential).
  • APM Project Planning and Control (desirable).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body or willingness to obtain (desirable).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
