Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Academy at Watford Football Club on a casual basis. We are looking for a Physical Performance Coach to be part of a forward‑thinking performance team providing strength and conditioning assistance at training sessions for Academy players, aged between 6 and 16 years old.

You will be required to attend evenings sessions and may have to travel to various locations depending on training locations. In addition, you will be expected to attend and contribute to regular Continuous Professional Development events.

The successful candidates will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic and hardworking, and be flexible to the requirements of the position and the business.

Applicants should ideally live local to Watford or the surrounding areas and be a UK resident or non‑UK resident with a valid UK work permit, and ideally have experience working within a similar role.

Essential:
  • BSc in Sport + Exercise Science or a sports related discipline
  • FA EFAiF First Aid Qualification
  • Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and unsociable hours
  • Valid full UK driving licence due to the driving requirement of the role, between all sites and other stadiums
  • Understanding of the Clubs commitment to EDI & Safeguarding
Desirable:
  • Experience of working within elite sport
  • MSc in Sport + Exercise Science or a sports related discipline
  • UKSCA accreditation or working towards

As a regulated activity provider and as part of the short‑listing process we may:

  • Complete reference requests prior to interview.
  • Carry out an online search for publicly available information as part of the due diligence process.
  • If your application is successful be required to obtain a DBS disclosure at the appropriate level (role dependant)
