A leading construction company in Greater London is seeking experienced Carpenters to build foundations and install framing and roofing systems. Ideal candidates will have completed an apprenticeship or possess significant experience in carpentry. Position Overview
Key Accountabilities and Supporting Tasks
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub-flooring and install walls and roofing systems
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
Fit and install trim, doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
Prepare cost estimates as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Qualifications
Must-have:
Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or minimum of 4 years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in carpentry
Knowledge of WorkSafe requirements as it pertains to Carpentry
Nice-to-have:
Previous supervisory experience managing trades and subcontractors
Knowledge in MS Office, including SharePoint
Experience with Smartphones, productivity apps and computers
