Purpose of role:
We provide group sessions for carers, enabling individuals to connect with other carers and explore common issues, concerns and share ideas. The purpose of the groups is to allow carers to take time out from their busy caring role, provide opportunities to share experiences gather information and meet new carers who understand through day-to-day experiences.

We are looking for volunteers who will support the running of the Carers Peer Support Service.

Time commitment:

2 hours a week (or more) and a minimum 6 month commitment
Locations

This role can be carried out remotely via telephone or an online platform. This role can be carried out in one of our Wellbeing Centres across Hertfordshire if preferred.

Main tasks:
- Updating HMN database
- Trained to carry out Telephone Assessments
- Flag any concerns regarding the Carers Coordinator
- To offer 1 to 1 Carers support via telephone, online and/or face to face
- Support Carers events
- Other identified tasks as role develops

District: Broxbourne, Dacorum, East Herts, Hertsmere, North Herts, Watford

Location: From your office, From home, Online

Time of day: Weekday Mornings, Weekday Afternoons, Weekday Evenings, Casual or Intermittent

Practical Considerations: No, ideally this role would be best suited to someone who has experience in a caring role or carer for someone.

Requirements: Will require a criminal record check (DBS), Own vehicle or access to a vehicle, Driving licence

Requirements (additional): Ideally those applying would have experience of being a carer

Suitable for: 18 – 25 year olds, Aged 26 and over, Older People

Suitable for volunteers interested in: Carers Support, Health and Wellbeing, Isolation & Loneliness, Mental Health
