Shetland Arts invites Shetland-based artists to present at Artist Meet-Up sessions, fostering creativity and collaboration. Artists will deliver 20-minute informal presentations on their work, followed by discussions, with a focus on various art forms. Sessions will include refreshments and are crucial for local artistic community engagement.
Shetland Arts is going to begin doing an Artist Meet-Up four times a year.
These gatherings will be facilitated by Shetland Arts' Creative Project Manager, Kathryn Gordon, and will invite guest artists (1 per session) to talk about their work, including their process, what inspires them and their outcomes. There will then be facilitated discussion groups that will have starting points relating to the presentation.
We're looking for Shetland based artists who would like to deliver 20-minute informal presentations about their work at each session.
We anticipate these sessions being either 12:30pm - 2pm or 6:30pm - 8pm (timings will alternate in an attempt to work for everyone).
Sessions will be free to attend but booking will be essential. There will be soup provided at lunchtime sessions, and tea and coffee in the evenings.
We are aiming to have a balance between art forms and experience and will schedule the sessions according to this.
The fee for this presentation and meeting will be £120.
This is 1 hour meeting time, 1 hour presentation and meeting time and 2 hours preparation, all at £30 per hour.
