Job Description:

In this unique role as a Cake Courier / Delivery Driver for both Dougies Goodies and Kirks Bakery, you’ll be more than just a delivery driver – you’ll be a key brand ambassador.

From our bakeries to the hands of our retail partner shops, you’ll ensure every delivery reflects the care, quality, and fun that Dougies and Kirks are known for. You’ll be the friendly, reliable face our customers look forward to seeing, helping to build lasting relationships with shops and stockists.

When you’re not out delivering, you’ll support our wholesale team by picking and packing orders to ensure they are road ready. This is a full‑time role from Monday to Saturday. Saturday availability is essential to support holiday cover for other drivers at both our Belfast and Ballymena locations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Delivery & Brand Representation:

• Deliver Dougies Goodies and Kirks products safely and efficiently to our wholesale customers across Northern Ireland.
• Act as a positive, professional representative of our brand – you’re often the only face‑to‑face interaction stockists have with us.
• Speak with shop owners and staff to maintain strong, friendly relationships, gather informal feedback, and support a great customer experience.
• Share relevant updates or pass on feedback to the Head of Wholesale to help us continually improve.

Driving & Vehicle Care:

• Operate delivery vans responsibly, ensuring timely and safe driving in accordance with all road laws.
• Keep your vehicle clean, tidy, and presentable – just like the cakes and breads you’re delivering!
• Perform routine checks and report maintenance needs promptly.

Picking, Packing & Inventory:

• Help prepare orders by picking and packing products with care and accuracy.
• Load and unload the van safely, checking deliveries against invoices and collecting signatures or confirmation.

Route Planning & Adaptability:

• Work with the teams to plan efficient delivery routes, adjusting where needed to stay on schedule and reduce fuel usage.
• Adapt quickly to changes in delivery times, locations, or order volumes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Previous delivery or driving experience is a bonus, but not essential.
• Excellent people skills – you’re confident chatting with shop staff and representing the brand with pride.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Able to lift and carry baked goods with care and safety.
• A positive, team‑first attitude and pride in your role.
