Job description

To support the procurement and supply chain management activities working on Sizewell C, the role will acquire pricing and availability for tender activity and procure materials for the project. This operational, hands‑on, tactical role operates in a fast‑paced environment with short lead‑in times. Activities include preparing RFQs/ITTs, managing and evaluating responses, and making sourcing recommendations to award contracts. The individual will manage specific supply chains to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement, building on existing capacity, developing new supplier relationships, and embedding collaborative work internally. This role requires a credible doer with influence to win hearts and minds, focusing on exceeding service expectations by delivering agile, value‑adding service and understanding customer requirements and process efficiency.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with supply chain to ensure earliest possible involvement within the project.
  • Use the Jaggaer e‑procurement portal to develop and govern package‑specific sourcing plans with work‑winning and project teams, including RFIs & RFQs.
  • Maximise value for money across direct categories and support evaluation of tender responses to compile award recommendations for approval, considering total cost of ownership.
  • Carry out due diligence, financial and commercial checks for supply partners in accordance with business governance.
  • Process requisition orders and raise Purchase Orders in line with company procedures, delegated levels of authority, and expedite as required.
  • Manage supply chain performance using the Jaggaer e‑procurement performance module, provide regular reports and performance development plans to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Monitor the supply market to identify potential new suppliers and products; lead meetings with suppliers to understand their products, the category market, and keep abreast of trends and risks to proactively support project requirements.
  • Support the collation, development, and preparation of procurement management information, including spend reports, monthly dashboards, etc.
  • Ensure strict compliance with processes, procedures, and governance to maintain quality standards.
  • Support delivery of business and group policies around sustainability, environmental, D&I and innovation, working collaboratively with supply chain to progress and maximise opportunity.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Experience of SAP and Jaggaer e‑procurement platforms advantageous; training can be provided if applicant has no experience.
  • Awareness of how to run end‑to‑end procurement projects from market research through sourcing to contract and supplier management.
  • Results‑oriented with ability to plan and deliver against bid or project milestones.
  • Analytical, numerically astute with well‑developed problem‑solving abilities.
  • Basic awareness of commercial and financial risks and how to manage them.
  • Comfortable learning and working with new processes and IT systems quickly.
  • Initiative to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise a challenging workload of competing priorities with support.
  • Highly customer‑focused and desire to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of the construction/civils market an advantage; applicants from other sectors encouraged if they have relevant procurement experience.
  • Studying towards CIPS / willing to undertake CIPS equivalent qualifications an advantage, but is not essential.
