In December 2023 CoStar Group purchased OnTheMarket (OTM) with the aim of developing this brand into the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal, supported by the CoStar Group Homes and Apartments teams.

Role Description: As a successful OTM Business Development Consultant (BDC), you will manage, nurture and grow an existing client base. You’ll be part of a dynamic, motivated team that adopts an entrepreneurial approach to selling, training and retaining clients on the full OTM product suite. You will collaborate with a sales team on the journey to become the UK’s number 1 Residential Property portal.

Responsibilities
  • Development of business growth through sourcing, generating, and building new business for OTM
  • Understand the OTM suite of products and how they best support customer needs
  • Identify new sales leads and contact potential clients
  • Meet with new and existing clients in person
  • Negotiate business terms with new and existing clients
  • Work with senior team members to manage risks and communicate results
  • Build communication skills and product knowledge to pitch to new and prospective clients
  • Represent OTM by hosting and attending industry events and networking with property professionals
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of sales success; experience selling online marketplaces, portals and similar B2B environments is preferred, but other sales backgrounds will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and grow clients over medium and long term with excellent service
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and objection handling skills with the ability to explain complex proposals
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work to metrics
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Consultative selling style with account management techniques to grow accounts over time
  • Ability to navigate a large organization to identify decision-makers, influencers and blockers
  • Current and valid driver’s license; satisfactory completion of a Driving Record/Driving Abstract check prior to start
