About the Role

The Buoyancy Operative plays a key role in the finishing processes of our subsea and buoyancy products. You will manufacture high‑quality, precision buoyancy modules, prototypes, jigs, and fixtures using both manual and machine tools, working from engineering drawings and CAD data.

Collaborating closely with design engineers, machinists, and production teams, you’ll transform conceptual designs into accurate, high‑performing physical components—ensuring every product meets our quality standards and delivery timelines.

  • Manufacture and assemble buoyancy modules in line with technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Cut, bond, and finish buoyancy blocks and tooling boards using manual clamping diocaw and vacuum bagging systems.
  • Perform spray painting and hand‑finishing to deliver a high‑quality final product.
  • Conduct in‑process and final inspections to ensure product quality.
  • Maintain and promote high standards of workmanship and precision.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency or quality enhancement and present them to management.
  • Uphold 5S principles and promote a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
  • Operate equipment safely and ensure preventative maintenance is performed as scheduled.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations, escalating any concerns to your line manager or relevant safety representatives.
  • Complete and maintain all required safety documentation accurately.
  • Work effectively with colleagues across departments to meet production goals.
  • Communicate openly and proactively to resolve production or quality issues.
  • Represent the company professionally, maintaining integrity and teamwork at all times.
About You
Essential Experience and Skills
  • At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality; proactive problem‑solver; reliable and self‑motivated; able to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Experience and Skills
  • Knowledge of 5S and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working within ISO900ners quality systems.
  • Experience with syntactic materials and adhesives.
  • Customer‑focused mindset; ability to inspire shared accountability.
Working Hours

37 per week, 07:00 – 16:45 Monday to Thursday
