Seeking a highly motivated Biogas / THG broker to join our growing physical Biofuels desk. Experienced role to expand our presence in European renewable gas and certificate markets, with a particular focus on biomethane, biogas, and the German THG quota market. This role is suited to a commercially minded individual with experience in biofuels or related renewable energy markets, who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced brokerage environment and engaging directly with producers, traders, and end users across Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Broker physical and THG:
    • Biomethane and biogas (physical gas and virtual) across Europe
    • German THG quota
  • Originate and develop relationships with:
    • Biomethane producers and end users
    • Utilities, gas suppliers, traders, and aggregators
    • Compliance buyers and obligated counterparties
  • Actively match buyers and sellers, and facilitate deal execution
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments (RED III and German THG quota framework) and assess their market impact
  • Provide pricing, market colour, and trade ideas to clients
  • Collaborate with internal desks (biofuels, SAF, certificates) to identify cross‑market opportunities
  • Support post‑trade execution, confirmations, and documentation processes
  • Support senior brokers with trade execution, market updates and client servicing.
  • Building a strong network of German and European market participants
  • Executing regular trades and generating brokerage revenue
  • Becoming a recognised point of contact for pricing and market intelligence in biogas and THG markets
  • Supporting the expansion of the desk’s renewable gas and certificate brokering
  • Responsible for assisting with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining of existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients
  • Working efficiently and supporting with making efficiencies e.g. assisting in the preparation of any new required frameworks
  • Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with

Skills and Experience
  • Is a native or fluent German speaker (highly preferred)
