A dynamic construction company seeks a BIM Manager to create and manage detailed 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD in Glasgow. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, data management, and ensuring compliance with building codes. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, BIM certification, and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
You will create and manage detailed 3D building models using industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MagiCAD. These models will serve as the digital foundation of the project, integrating geometric data along with material specifications, cost estimates, and project timelines.
You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment across all disciplines. Your coordination efforts will help detect and resolve potential design conflicts early, keeping the project moving efficiently.
You will be responsible for organising and maintaining critical project data. From plans and schedules to budgets and documentation, you’ll ensure everything is current, accessible, and well-documented. You’ll also manage and distribute project outputs such as drawings and technical documents using BIM naming systems and filling work and outputs.
Using BIM tools, you’ll perform simulations and clash detection to identify issues before construction begins proactively.
You will provide hands-on technical support to project teams and may also train others on BIM software and workflows. You will be required to create procedures and conventions for BIM usage. Your guidance will ensure that your team can confidently and efficiently use the tools required for project success.
With guidance from the Technical Director, you’ll interpret building codes and industry regulations to ensure your designs meet all necessary standards. Throughout the project lifecycle, you’ll be responsible for upholding quality control and ensuring compliance at every stage.
