## DescriptionJob Title: Behaviour Support Assistant - Aylesbury Location: Aylesbury Contract: Full-time / Term-time only (8:30am-4:00pm) Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day (DOE) Start Date: January (Temp-to-Perm Opportunity) About the Role Academics are seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join an alternative provision in Aylesbury. You will be supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviours, and barriers to learning. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping vulnerable learners re-engage with education and develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. Use de-escalation and behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour. Work closely with teachers and senior staff to maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Help pupils develop communication skills, resilience, self-regulation, and positive relationships. Contribute to behaviour plans, reviews, and progress updates as part of a wider support team.The Ideal Candidate Experience in youth work, mainstream secondary schools, residential care, or working with challenging behaviours. Understanding of holistic approaches to behaviour support (desirable but not essential). Calm, patient, and empathetic nature with the ability to build positive relationships. Confident in managing behaviour and using de-escalation techniques effectively. Passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and fulfil their potential. Competitive daily rate (£90 - £100 depending on experience). Temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate. Ongoing CPD, training, and support throughout your placement.
