Bank Senior Support Worker

Compensation: £13.70 / hour

Description

Bannister Farm is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join the team. This is a bank role. We also have some permanent hours available which can be discussed when booking an interview. Bannister Farm is located in Leyland, in Lancashire. Our home offers residential support to five autistic adults, who may also have a learning disability. The home is located off a main road, in a pleasant neighbourhood.

Our team are dedicated to supporting our residents to live their life in a safe and nurturing environment.

We can also support those who have:

  • Difficulties with communication
  • Mild to moderate behaviours that challenge
  • Epilepsy
  • Some mental health needs
What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • The role holder will make a significant personal contribution to the overall development of the service ensuring day to day issues and incidents are appropriately resolved and reported according to policy and procedures referring more complex and serious matters to senior management as appropriate.
  • Supervise and support the delivery of person centred support and care, ensuring that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks
  • Supervise support workers in delivery and supports people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Support staff in own team to maintain effective professional relationships with the people who use the service, their families, colleagues, outside agencies and other professionals referring any issues to senior staff as appropriate.
  • Act as a positive role model, provide effective supervision and guidance for own team contributing to their performance and professional development.

Previous experience in a care or supported living role is important, as communication and personal interaction are key aspects of this position.
