Job description

Beechlydene Ward are looking for like-minded enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurses who share our visions and values. Beechlydene is a 21-bed ward split into single-sex wings, providing an excellent opportunity to work with service users with a range of mental health needs in crisis. Working alongside a supportive and cohesive team, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills, shift coordination and competent nursing abilities within the clinical area to both registered and unregistered staff. You will ensure continuity of care and implementation of trust policies. Developmental support will be provided through the supervision structure and ward manager, with access to training focused on clinical, management and leadership skills. In addition, you will receive a comprehensive induction package upon commencing employment, annual appraisals focusing on your development and career progression within the Trust, and an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a comprehensive, person-centred nursing assessment and prepare care plans in consultation with service users.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided in partnership with users.
  • Complete risk assessments.
  • Implement research-based practice.
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge, skills and expertise.
  • Ensure that service provision is safe and therapeutic.
  • Demonstrate effective time management.
  • Utilise electronic rostering systems (Rosterpro).
  • Participate in education and training opportunities.
  • Maintain patient records in accordance with relevant NMC Guidelines and Trust Policy.
  • Ensure safety of clients and staff within the unit and fulfil legal obligations.
  • Take part in a rolling programme of audit.
