Job Title: Associate Professor
Department: Clinical Education

Schedule: Day/Evening

SUMMARY

Faculty develops, implements, and evaluates the assigned program of study on an ongoing basis. This position participates in selecting students, advising students, curriculum development, program revisions, program evaluations, textbook selection, teaching in the classroom and clinical setting, evaluation of student achievement, and other matters, as assigned, in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the college.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Leadership
  • Provides oversight for program development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment in partnership with the Program Coordinator and Dean of Academics.
  • Ensures systematic review of curricula and courses to meet regulatory standards, current best practices, and institutional goals.
  • Serves on assigned committees and contributes to program‑level decision‑making.
Instruction & Curriculum
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates course syllabi and curricula to align with institutional philosophy and healthcare trends.
  • Utilizes a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote active student engagement.
  • Supervises classroom, lab, and clinical learning environments, ensuring effective student application of knowledge and skills.
  • Provides timely evaluation and constructive feedback to students in didactic and clinical settings.
Student Advising & Support
  • Serves as an advisor, guiding students in academic planning, remediation, and personal development.
  • Schedules regular meetings with at‑risk students and develops individualized plans for success.
  • Connects students to institutional and community resources to support their progress.
Personnel & Professional Development
  • Participates in faculty recruitment, interviewing, and mentoring, and makes recommendations for hiring.
  • Models professionalism, punctuality, and standards of practice in all academic and clinical settings.
  • Engages in continuing education and professional development, meeting required competency and accreditation standards.
Administrative & Committee Responsibilities
  • Contributes to budget planning, accreditation reviews, and institutional reporting.
  • Attends faculty meetings and actively participates in program and organizational committees.
  • Assists in policy development, recruitment strategies, and quality improvement initiatives.
Community Engagement
  • Serves as a representative on advisory boards, fostering relationships with stakeholders and clinical partners.
  • Participates in publicizing program initiatives and promoting the program within the community.
  • Supports institutional reputation by maintaining positive connections with external organizations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
  • Must hold the appropriate terminal degree for the program of which they will be teaching in
  • Professional license applicable for program of study (ie. RN, RT, Surgical Tech, etc.) required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification for nursing preferred;
  • Two years of teaching in a college or university preferred
  • Non‑Clinical teaching, license not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $36.29 - $51.25
