Associate Town Planning Director - Manchester

Location: Manchester (City Centre)

Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you an ambitious and experienced Associate Town Planner ready to take the next big step in your career or Principal Town Planner looking for progression? I'm working with a nationally recognised planning and development consultancy with a strong presence across the UK and an expanding team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to join as an Associate Director where you'll play a pivotal role in leading impactful projects across the North West and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver a diverse portfolio of planning projects, from major residential and commercial schemes to regeneration, infrastructure and strategic site work.
  • Provide high-quality planning and land use advice to a varied client base including developers, housebuilders, investors and public sector clients.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of planning applications, representations, appeals and strategy documents.
  • Directly contribute to business growth by fostering and developing strong client relationships and winning repeat work.
  • Mentor and support more junior team members, nurturing their professional development and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications
  • Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) (or equivalent) with typically 5+ years post-qualifying experience in planning consultancy.
  • A proven track record of delivering planning projects through the UK regulatory framework, preferably with experience across complex or high-profile schemes.
  • Strong analytical, communication and client management skills with the ability to work independently and lead on multiple projects.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with the ability to grow your own network and drive revenue.
