Job description

We are seeking a talented banking and finance lawyer to join our market-leading team in Manchester advising major UK banks (including Lloyds, RBS, HSBC, Santander) and alternative lenders (such as ThinCats, OakNorth, Beechbrook Capital).

Role highlights:
  • Advise clients on legal aspects of banking contracts and arrangements, including acquisition finance, property finance, asset-based lending, restructuring, and refinancing.
  • Draft and negotiate facility agreements (bilateral and syndicated) and other key documentation.
  • Lead and support banking transactions, attend client meetings, project manage deals, supervise junior team members, and coordinate with overseas lawyers.
  • Develop business by building relationships with key bankers in Manchester and supporting marketing efforts across the North West, Nottingham, Birmingham, and London.
What we’re looking for:
  • Solid knowledge of banking law and relevant finance areas.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on client needs and solutions.
  • Interest in financial sector developments and legal updates.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to master complex contracts.
