Job description
Assistant Quantity Surveyor – EQUANS

Equans is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London on a permanent, full‑time basis (37.5 hours per week). This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the QS with commercial administration and management on live projects.
  • Collate sub‑contract procurement information and manage subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts.
  • Assist with post‑tender pricing analysis/assessment, ensuring budgets remain on track.
  • Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessments to keep pricing on budget and compliant with health and safety.
  • Support subcontractor selection, procurement schedules and documentation for valuation, procurement and commercial administration.
  • Prepare monthly applications and subcontractor accounts in line with legal obligations.
  • Support day‑to‑day cost control, monitoring and reporting.
  • Review sub‑contractor accounts, submit valuations and manage payments, final accounts and retention releases.
  • Monitor payment receipts for timely cash flow management.
  • Compile valuations with QS for accurate cost reports.
  • Assist with QS documentation (e.g., client invoices) within deadlines.
  • Address contractual issues and take action as required.
  • Process subcontractor payment requests and issue notices.
  • Attend internal and external project and company meetings.
  • Assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects.
  • Provide assistance to finance, accounts and estimating teams.
  • Handle general day‑to‑day administrative duties.
  • Travel to sites and head offices as required.
