Assistant Food & Beverage Service Manager – Job Overview

An incredible opportunity for an Assistant F&B Service Manager to join voco Oxford Spires and help lead our team to greatness! We offer a salary of £32,000.00 + service charge, and staff accommodation is available in Oxford for up to six months in case of relocation.

voco is an informal, non‑pretentious hospitality group that values sustainability and guest satisfaction. The hotel is located in Oxford, close to the river Thames and surrounded by gardens.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Food & Beverage Service Manager in delivering a high‑quality guest experience across all F&B outlets.
  • Supervise the daily operations of our restaurant, bar, and event spaces.
  • Lead and motivate the F&B team to deliver exceptional service and maintain brand standards.
  • Monitor service quality, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in managing inventory, ordering, and cost control to optimise profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Take ownership of team engagement, training, and performance development.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of F&B team leadership experience in a property of similar size & standard.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of activities across all food and beverage departments.
  • Strong organisational skills and a good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Knowledge of appropriate F&B systems (table reservation management, Micros Simphony or relevant POS).
  • Guest‑focused with an eye for detail in service quality.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
