The DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole is located on the vibrant Brighton seafront in a beautiful 1890s building. The hotel has 321 guest bedrooms, 24 meeting rooms, 3 restaurants, a health club with an indoor pool and sauna.
About the Role
We’re seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to manage all maintenance work within the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest识 and member experience. The role involves daily checks, equipment repair, renovation coordination and emergency program development.
Salary
£36,000 – £38,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel.
- Perform daily checks around the hotel.
- Conduct lift emergency release procedures as required.
- Diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical equipment.
- Build good relationships with internal and external customers.
- Maintain all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure safe condition and address any unsafe situations.
- Develop, implement and direct all emergency programmes.
- Implement and manage energy conservation programmes squads to minimise expenses.
- Coordinate renovation bidding, define cost and scope, and oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality and cost‑effectiveness.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure health and safety of the hotel.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and train employees accordingly.
Qualifications
- Strong background in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of 4‑pipe FCU system.
- Knowledge of Centralised HVAC with chillers.
- Experience with boilers and CHP.
- Compliance knowledge.
- Managed a team of at least 5 people.
- Managed small projects.
- Proficiency in stock management and ordering.
