Astronomical AI is working on life saving technology that will have a massive impact on the world. We are recruiting a Senior Developer for an equity position, read on this is the role for you!

Astronomical AI is an exciting and innovative Artificial Intelligence startup specialising in MedTech. We are a pre-revenue start-up with an ambitious plan to grow and scale up the company.

Our focus is on improving the workflow for Oncologists by utilising AI for the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, thus reducing the burden on Oncologists and the NHS and saving time and money, therefore allowing Oncologists to focus on patient care.

We are looking for a Artificial Intelligence Engineer that has experience in creating Artificial Intelligence apps and leading Data Science/Software Engineering teams and would play a pivotal role in creating the prototype (which is paramount to secure funding), as well as helping to scale up the company.

As an AI Developer you will be comfortable in a role that requires good communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with co-founders to develop an AI prototype for diagnosing and treating lung cancer
  • Make key decisions on technical and architectural aspects of the solution
  • Attending meetings with potential investors to pitch the prototype and answer any technical questions
  • Provide strategic advice from a technical perspective to help the company grow
  • Leading the iterative development process
  • You are a driven person who wants to make an impact at Astronomical AI
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in Data Science/Software Engineering
  • Full-stack development capabilities including Artificial Intelligence techniques such as working with Convolution Neural Networks/Deep Learning and Computer Vision
  • Being able to take charge of front end and back end development
  • Experience with web and app development
  • Strong GDPR and cyber security knowledge
  • Ability to quickly learn and assess the latest trends in AI and MedTech
  • Experience with Generative AI and LLMs would be a nice to have
