A leading energy company is looking for an Apprentice Mechanical Technician in Bacton, UK. This role offers a comprehensive 3 Year Apprenticeship program focusing on both technical and personal development. Apprentices will engage in a variety of maintenance activities on-site while being guided by a mentor. Candidates should possess a genuine passion for engineering, a minimum Grade 4 in Maths and English, and a driving license is preferred. This is a full-time position with a shift pattern after initial training.

Perenco UK is a leading operator where we encourage our engineers to innovate and put operations at the heart of our business. We believe in equipping our people with the best skills which is why we've partnered with local training providers to offer a 3 Year Apprenticeship programme to aspiring engineers. Our 3 Year Apprenticeship Programme will see you develop both technically and personally, with the first 20 weeks spent at the training centre in Norwich completing some of the following training: Health & Safety workshop behaviours; Hand tools and traditional engineering techniques; Working with and understanding technical documentation; Specialist Mechanical training including: Mechanical Maintenance; Actuators, fans, pumps and valves.
Once you're equipped with your foundation knowledge, you'll join us on-site where you'll work alongside our teams and start gaining valuable hands-on experience and training to further your understanding and start applying what you've learnt. You'll be assigned a mentor, who will oversee your development and training, offering valuable insights into career paths at Perenco.

At Perenco, we want to empower our people to the best of their abilities, so we also sponsor our apprentices to begin a Level 4 HNC specific to their trade in Year 3 following completion of the Level 3 Extended Diploma.
Initially apprentices will work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week when they join site. Once they are competent and have been allocated to a team they will move to shift working which is 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hour shifts.
