Job Overview

Based in the Amenity Cleansing Section at Council’s Salthill Depot in Clitheroe, you will be part of a small team responsible for ensuring that roads, footpaths, verges and open spaces are kept clean.

Responsibilities
  • Picking up litter and sweeping streets.
  • Using equipment consistent with Street Cleansing requirements.
  • Ensuring all activities comply with the Council’s Health and Safety policy and the Safety at Street Works Code of Practice.
  • Working overtime on a rota basis (Saturday and Sunday every 1 in 3 weekends) and ad‑hoc cover as required.
  • Operating weekend shifts: 2.5 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday starting at 6 am.
Qualifications
  • Full driving licence including categories B and B1.
  • Knowledge of the local area is desirable.
