Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Experience in alumni relations or fundraising is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of database systems, particularly Raiser’s Edge, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the organisation of regular alumni events.
  • Record and update event information on the database accurately.
  • Handle enquiries from alumni with a friendly approach.
  • Support the Development team with administrative tasks.

Job description

Salary: up to £21,087 per annum (depending on working hours)

Hours: part-time, 25 hours per week (0.71 FTE). Requests for 17.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE) are also welcome – please specify when applying.

Contract Type: Permanent, subject to six months’ probation

Overview: Selwyn College wishes to appoint an Alumni Relations Officer to join the College's busy, friendly Development team. Working as part of a job share with a fellow Alumni Relations Officer, you will be an important part of a small but dynamic team responsible for keeping in touch with over 7,000 alumni and friends of Selwyn College, scattered all over the world. In dealing with a wide range of enquiries from alumni, you will be friendly and confident with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the organisation of regular events in Cambridge, London and elsewhere and online.
  • Record and update event information and attendees’ details accurately on the database – Raiser’s Edge.
  • Handle enquiries from alumni with a friendly and confident approach.
  • Support the Development team with general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Experience or interest in alumni relations, fundraising or a related field is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of database systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge would be an advantage).
