Overview

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust invites applications for the Administration Assistant role. The River Neighbourhood Team, based at Gemini House in Kidderminster, covers two GP surgeries in Worcestershire. The team is friendly, supportive and hardworking, and seeks enthusiastic individuals to join as a part-time Band 2 administrative assistant. The Neighbourhood Team operates from 07:30 to 18:30, Monday to Sunday including bank holidays.

This position includes the following shift patterns: Monday 08:00-16:00, Tuesday 09:00-17:00, Thursday 09:00-14:30 and Friday 10:30-18:30 on a rota basis. Flexible working opportunities will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The role will require the ability to:

  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post and delivery of supplies

Job responsibilities

The post holder will:

  • Work as an autonomous practitioner within the integrated team providing rapid and planned assessment and treatment interventions to patients in their own homes or other community settings to enable patients to maximise their independence, health and wellbeing and remain in their own homes for as long as possible. This will be achieved through hands-on clinical skills and knowledge to treat, educate and support patients on a designated caseload and by working with patients and their carers to assess, plan and implement appropriate packages of care
  • Take responsibility for the caseload in the absence of the Senior Community Nurse when required

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to academic Level 2 (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2, OCR/RSA2, City and Guilds 2) in a Business Administration-related subject or considerable recent NHS administrative experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant Level 2 qualification on appointment to post
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
Experience
  • Recent, relevant experience in an Administrative/Secretarial/Reception role
  • Experience of using NHS IT systems (EMIS, BIRO, Aero, ICE)
Knowledge
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act
  • Understanding of the NHS Code of Confidentiality
Skills and Abilities
