Job summary
A leading independent healthcare provider in Sheffield is seeking a Radiographer specialized in Mammography to join their Imaging department. This bank role requires a qualified professional to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. Candidates must have a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, HCPC registration, and a minimum of 2 years experience in Mammography. Competitive hourly rate offered.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
- Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
- Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
- Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
- Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
- Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
- Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
- Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
- Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Minimum 2 years experience in Mammography breast screening is essential.
