Do you have a post graduate qualification in Mammography or are you interested in studying for one?
The Breast Imaging Department at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust have a part time position available, for a qualified, HCPC registered Radiographer. Applications are welcome from those who are due to qualify in Radiography and require training in breast, in line with Annex 21 guidance.
As a qualified Mammographer you will participate in breast screening, assessment and symptomatic clinics within the static units of The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford as well as performing screening mammography on mobile units at various locations throughout rural Shropshire. It is therefore essential that you hold a current UK full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
With a flexible approach to work you will be required to work shift patterns to meet the demands of the expanding screening population and symptomatic workload.
The nature of this role is that it is open to female applicants only. This provision applies under the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
Your primary base will be The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
You must be committed to providing a high quality mammography service and be capable of working with accuracy and speed to NHS Breast Screening Programme standards and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

You will be joining us at an incredibly exciting time as, having recently being awarded more than £300 million government funding, The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is about to undergo a major transformation as part of our sustainable services programme. This will lead to breast imaging and surgery being co-located at one of the two hospital sites in a purpose built breast services department.
Our department is committed to radiographer role extension and CPD and currently has Advanced Practitioners undertaking stereo core biopsy and film-reading and Assistant Practitioners performing screening and symptomatic mammography.
