Job summary
A leading bakery company in Manchester is seeking a Transport Manager to oversee daily transport operations and ensure timely deliveries. You will coordinate with the Bakery team, lead a team of drivers, and monitor transport costs. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transport operations to ensure timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with Bakery team for accurate customer order dispatch.
- Monitor transport costs and maintain efficiency.
- Lead and support a team of drivers for compliance and performance.
- Maintain safe and legally compliant transport records.
Skills
- Oversee daily transport operations to ensure all deliveries are completed on time and to the highest standards.
- Coordinate with the Bakery team to confirm all customer orders are accurately prepared, dispatched, and tracked.
- Monitor and control transport costs, maintaining efficiency and adherence to budget.
- Lead and support a team of drivers, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance standards are met.
- Maintain accurate transport records, ensuring all vehicles are safe, serviced, and legally compliant.
- Experienced in transport or logistics management, ideally within food manufacturing or distribution.
- Strong leader with proven ability to motivate and manage a delivery team effectively.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledgeable in transport compliance, vehicle safety, and road legislation.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and IT skills, confident using transport management systems.
Mon-Sun, starting at 2:00AM alternating pattern of 5 and 6 working days out of 7 each week, on a rolling rota.
