Job description

The Wakefield Central Youth Hub Team is seeking a dynamic and driven Youth Engagement Worker to join our team.

This role will be based at The Central Youth Hub, covering Central, North, and South West of the Wakefield district. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering innovative youth programs across various locations within the area, with the goal of enhancing outcomes for young people aged 11-25. The Wakefield Central Youth Hub provides safe and supportive spaces for young people. Enhances opportunities for employment and skill development. Works towards reducing youth crime and anti-social behaviour. Promotes overall health and well-being.

What I might be doing?
  • You will support the team to develop and deliver a comprehensive offer of support and activities for children and young people from age 11 to 24 (up to and including).
  • You will support children and young people’s participation in a range of activities which promote positive health and wellbeing.
  • You will work alongside multi agencies to provide support and opportunities for young people.

Essential requirements:
  • This post will require the ability to travel around the district and to transport children and young people. A full driving licence is required.
  • Evidence of maintaining skill and knowledge base in a professional field through post qualifying training or other opportunities.
  • Previous experience working directly with children and young people.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing interventions for this demographic.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the creation and delivery of engaging youth programs.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the barriers that certain groups experience in accessing services and support.
