Wraparound Care Lead – Suffolk Jobs Direct

Location: Sandy Lane, Little Bealings, Woodbridge IP13 6LW.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 7:45 am‑9:00 am and 3:00 pm‑6:15 pm, 38 weeks per year.

Contract: Permanent.

Salary: £25,185 per annum, pro rata.

Reference: 8112.

Job Description
  • Plan, organise, and lead engaging activities (creative, physical, and social) for children.
  • Supervise and support children to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day running of wraparound sessions, ensuring smooth routines and effective communication with parents and staff.
  • Open and close school buildings, ensuring security of school premises.
  • Supervise and support wraparound care assistants and volunteers.
  • Prepare and serve healthy snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures.
  • Maintain registers, administer first aid as necessary and report accidents according to school procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour management.
  • Liaise with the Headteacher and school staff to ensure continuity of care and share relevant information about pupils.
  • Purchase and maintain resources within an agreed budget.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere where all children feel valued and respected.
What You Will Need
Essential
  • Experience of working with children in a school, nursery, or childcare setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities.
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Good communication skills with both children and adults.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety requirements.
  • Reliable and able to work independently.
Desirable
  • Relevant childcare qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Playwork, Childcare, or equivalent).
  • First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates.
  • Experience leading a team or club for children.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements for wraparound provision.
