Kedrion Biopharma is recruiting a Warehouse Shift Operative to join our highly regulated manufacturing site in Elstree. This opportunity will appeal to candidates with experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or other quality-critical environments, where strict procedures, traceability, and compliance are central to daily operations.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will support end-to-end warehouse activities including goods receipt, stock control, internal distribution, and dispatch. Working to cGMP and GDP standards, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate system records, ensuring correct material segregation, and supporting an audit-ready, right-first-time culture. The role contributes directly to achieving 100% stock traceability and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Please note –
- Hours: double day shift (Monday to Friday 6am–2pm and then 2pm–10pm on rotation)
- Applications cannot be progressed where there are unexplained gaps in employment exceeding 28 days
- This role is subject to a Basic DBS check
- Due to the site location and on-call requirements (one week in every seven), the successful candidate may need to attend the site at short notice, including outside of standard working hours
Duties & Responsibilities will include -
- Receiving, identifying, and inspecting incoming goods and the completion of associated documentation including requests for quality control testing.
- Placing incoming stock items into their storage locations and recording the location on SAP Inventory Control system software.
- Maintaining correct segregation between quarantined and released Raw Materials and Finished Products according to cGMP.
- Carrying out onsite deliveries of incoming items to their user departments
- Picking and assembling orders for user departments and sections.
- Recording by means of Kedrion Procurement System (SAP), details of all stock movements and issues of incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
- Picking and assembling Finished Product orders for dispatch to Customers in accordance with Good Distribution Practice (cGDP), Cold Chain Distribution (CCD) and Ministry of Transport Known Consignor guidelines.
- Assisting in daily cycle counting duties to maintain accuracy of stock levels.
- Preparation of other materials and equipment for dispatch and completion of all documentation.
- Operation of counterbalance forklift trucks reach trucks and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe efficient manner and attending to daily maintenance checks.
- Maintenance of the Warehouse facility ensuring the area is clean, tidy and a safe environment.
- Carrying out on-site deliveries of assembled orders to user departments and sections as required.
- Support the daily setting of objectives – to accomplish the agreed programme without compromise to quality and to achieve a target of 100% stock traceability and zero reject batches.
Skills & experience to help you within the role –
- Good attention to detail and able to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Previous experience of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
- Previous experience of GDP (Good Distribution Practice)
- Counter-Balance truck licence to RTITB or equivalent accredited standard
OR - Reach lifting truck licence to RTITB or equivalent accredited standard
- Current UK Motorised Pallet truck licence - desirable
- Education to Maths and English GSCE level or equivalent
