Compensation: £47,375 / year

Description

Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is looking to recruit a Ward Manager to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hour role. Priory Hospital Suttons Manor is set in Stapleford Tawney, a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district, near the town of Romford. The hospital sits on attractive grounds of over nine acres, which supports an amazing horticulture programme and grants access to an idyllic countryside landscape that promotes wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our patients’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Manages the ward and resources effectively, taking steps to ensure that appropriate staffing levels and skill mix of nursing experience and skills is in place including effective rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.
  • Has full oversight of the nursing staff rota and is the authorised individual to ensure rota management and erostering standards are maintained and are effective.
  • Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements and complete mandatory training.
  • Addresses shortfalls in development and ensures that training and performance issues are addressed.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be currently registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a first-level nurse or with the Health and Care Professions Council, with at least two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting. Appropriate registration or relevant ward experience is essential, alongside a willingness to complete further clinical, managerial, and leadership training and development. The candidate should be a trained and current Assessor/Supervisor, with strong computer literacy skills. They will have experience as a registered practitioner in clinical settings relevant to the post, with evidence of continuing professional development. Experience in clinical audit and/or service improvement based on evidence is desirable, as is the ability to work in environments requiring the management of multiple priorities. Additionally, the candidate must have prior experience supervising nursing or care staff.
