About the Organisation

Provides support and advocacy for the community youth sector across Kirklees.

Role Description

Kirklees Youth Alliance is seeking volunteers aged 16+ (suitable for DoE placements where participants are aged 16+) to help out at the youth club at Dewsbury Moor Children's Centre on Tuesday teatimes from 4-7pm (term-time only). The youth clubs are run by a partnership of KYA and Huddersfield Giants Community Trust who will be delivering a programme of health and wellbeing activities as well as life skills and space for young people to chill with their friends.

• Welcoming young people to the youth club and signing them in.


• Encouraging young people to take part in activities.


• Building supportive relationships with young people.


• Supporting young people who need additional help to engage with activities.


• Tidying up at the end of the session.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience supporting children and young people.
