Job description
Volunteer Entry Into Service (EIS) Engagement Tamil Speaking

We have an exciting volunteering opportunity for a Tamil speaking volunteer who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. You will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team of Recovery Practitioners, Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists, to deliver high quality provision from point of entry into RISE. The team is peripatetic and works in various venues, including GP Surgeries, Substance Misuse Hubs, and Home Visits.

Overview

Change Grow Live is a charity dedicated to supporting service users with respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and helping them find the right treatment and care options. Our core values are “be open, be compassionate and be bold” and our team applies these daily to help people change the direction of their lives and reach their full potential. RISE is an integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service for Ealing residents 18 years and over, offering a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Support the clients’ treatment/recovery journey.
  • Provide support to team members with screening, assessment, pharmacological support, psychosocial support; cognitive & behavioral based interventions; motivational interviewing interventions.
  • Recovery planning and onward referral.
  • Reduce drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote carer, service user and community involvement.
  • Work flexibly across the local community with hours to suit service need.
  • Receive regular supervision and reflective practice / clinical supervision; have a team member on site for day-to-day advice and guidance.

  • You will need to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
  • This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
