Volunteer Community Connector Various locations throughout Scotland

As a community connector, you will be making links with your local community to raise awareness of stroke and the Stroke Association. By speaking to people in your local community, you can help people understand the effects of on lives and help to improve the experience of those affected by stroke.

What you may be doing:
  • You may be asked to work with staff in the local area to represent the Stroke Association at events. This could be giving a presentation or talk, hosting a stand or attending a fundraising event.
  • You can share your own experience of stroke to inspire and help others.
This is the role for you if you are:
  • Passionate about helping people learn more about stroke.
  • Able to get out and about.
  • Comfortable using technology like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Enjoy interacting with people.

  • To help improve care for stroke and increase people’s knowledge about stroke.
Training for this role:
  • Being a Community Connector means increasing your knowledge and awareness of stroke, it’s effects and the challenges that people face after stroke.
  • You will have access to Learn, our learning management system you can take part in both e-learning and instructor led courses to support your role.
  • Mandatory training includes: GDPR, basic health and safety, lone working and safeguarding.
  • There are also non-mandatory training packages for you to do on other stroke related topics that you might be interested in, or that feel relevant to your role.
