A local charity organization in Skipton is seeking dedicated volunteers to help combat loneliness among older adults. No specific skills are required—just your time, energy, and willingness to connect. Comprehensive training will be provided, and you'll need to pass a DBS check and provide references. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact in your community.
Just like Richard Carr-Gomm, Abbeyfield Living Society founder who dedicated his time to combating loneliness in older adults, you too can make a lasting impact. Over 60 years later, our mission thrives thanks to the hundreds of incredible volunteers who bring their unique skills and personalities to our houses and homes.
At Abbeyfield Living Society, our amazing volunteers are the heart of what we do. Without their dedication, many older people in our communities could feel isolated and alone. But with your time, you can change that.
The most important thing you bring is yourself! We have roles for everyone, regardless of experience. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm are all we need to get started. Of course, if you have specific skills you'd like to share, let us know! We're always looking for ways to make the most of your talents.
Hit the ground running with confidence! We provide a comprehensive induction program tailored to your specific volunteer role. This includes all the training and support you need to feel comfortable and empowered to make a difference from day one.
After you apply, we'll invite you for an informal interview to get to know each other better. It's a chance for you to learn about the role and for us to see if you'd be a great fit for the team.
The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. Our volunteering roles require two references and a DBS check.
Please note this role will require eligibility to work in the UK.
