Job description
Inglis Vets Hospital, Dunfermline, Dunfermline, Scotland

Inglis Vets have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our large friendly team.

In this role you will have a good mixture of hospital shifts where we see more complex cases and take care of patients needing more intensive treatment and hospitalisation. Working as part of a bigger team supported by RVNS, ACAs and Client Care.

In addition, carrying out branch shifts allows access to more routine work within a smaller team where you can develop a caseload of clients from the local community.

We are happy to consider both full/part-time applications, full time would be 4 days per week Monday to Friday.

We are proud to have our own inhouse Out of Hours service and we also cover out of hours for a couple of small local practices. We have experienced Night Nurses onsite working all night to give the best patient care. When on duty shifts you will be off during the day and get generous stand down after. This is an excellent opportunity to use emergency and critical care skills. Duty shifts are normally on a 1 in 12 rotation. Weekend day shifts are also on rotation (1 in 12 approximately).

About Us

We are a busy and well-established vet practice with a main hospital and 8 branches located in Fife and Central Scotland. We are dedicated to providing our clients with an excellent care plan and offer our own out of hours services. Our Cowdenbeath Branch is a clinical training centre for RDSVS Vet Students. Our Hospital Hill branch features a hydrotherapy treadmill. The branches are well located in Fife and Central Scotland with ease of access to Edinburgh, the beaches of the Fife coast and beautiful Perthshire. Our branches are easily accessible but a full driving licence and own transportation is a must.

About the Team and Culture

We have a passionate and hardworking team of 100 employees, including around 40 Registered Veterinary Nurses and Animal Care Assistants, 30 Vets and 30 Support Staff. In addition to our permanent staff, we have a visiting orthopaedic surgeon, ophthalmologist and dermatologist.

We are very enthusiastic about our teams’ development and currently have vets studying for certificates in medicine and surgery and we have new graduate vets and also student nurses.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from -
