A local police force in the UK is seeking vehicle maintenance volunteers to assist in maintaining and presenting police vehicles to a professional standard. Responsibilities include cleaning vehicles, updating inventories, and reporting issues to supervisors. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a full current driving licence are essential requirements. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in policing and join a supportive team, making a difference in the community.

Volunteers will be involved in a number of tasks including:
Volunteers should demonstrate strong attention to detail and possess good communication skills. They will be asked to work independently as well as with others so initiative and team-working skills will be important.
Volunteers will need to hold a full current driving licence. It would be desirable if this licence included the D1 category as well as C1, but this is not essential. Previous experience of vehicle maintenance would be advantageous but again is not essential.

As a police support volunteer you will have access to financial and mental well-being guidance and support, discounts for everyday spend, our on-site gyms and a range of sports clubs. Volunteering with us will also allow you to apply for other voluntary and paid positions within the Force.
Line Management
Volunteers will be supervised by the Police Sergeant within the Volunteering Team
Location
Volunteers will be based within the Volunteering Team at Surrey Police Headquarters
Minimum Commitment
Volunteers will be asked to commit two to three hours per week.
All applicants who wish to volunteer or work within Surrey Police are subject to a security check (known as vetting). Successful applicants for this volunteer position will be vetted to the level required to access relevant information and ICT systems within Surrey Police.
Training
Volunteers will be provided with an introduction to Surrey Police and a local induction. In addition, volunteers will need to complete the relevant police driving assessment to enable them to move police vehicles.
Volunteers will be supported by the police officers and staff within the Volunteering Team
