Location: London, Uxbridge, Reading, Guildford, Worcester, Dover, Oxford, Edinburgh

Dates: July 2-29 2026 (possible extension)

Position Overview

Responsible for planning and delivering the academic program of EFL students, representing MLA values, and working 6 days per week. Residential employment includes all meals and accommodation.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver task‑based EFL lessons to mixed‑ability classes.
  • Adapt pre‑made lesson plans to class composition.
  • Synchronise with co‑teachers and coordinate with Directors of Studies.
  • Support student progress through the Tasktime book and weekly CPD sessions.
  • Maintain accurate teaching records, attendances, and reporting.
  • Ensure classroom safety and uphold safeguarding policy.
  • Assist with extracurricular activities and speaking level testing when required.
Requirements – Essential
  • Valid UK passport or right to work in the UK and a DBS or PVG check.
  • References proving suitability to work with learners under 18.
  • CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE/QTS, or equivalent Ofqual‑recognised qualification.
  • Experience teaching EFL and classroom management.
  • A Level 6 degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
Requirements – Desirable
  • DELTA, MA TESOL, or Master’s degree in ELT/TESOL.
  • Experience teaching teenagers and summer‑school programmes in the UK.
  • First Aid qualification and enhanced DBS/PVG registration.
  • Enhanced CPD enthusiasm and willingness to support peers.
Person Specification
  • Positive relationship building with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
  • Self‑motivated, passionate and organised.
  • Capable of working under pressure and collaborating with staff.
  • Embodies MLA values and policy standards.
Schedule

Up to 42 working hours over a 7‑day session, with a maximum of 36 teaching hours and 6 additional hours for meetings, admin and CPD.

Compensation

Residential teachers £540 per week (inclusive of holiday pay up to £605 weekly). Returning teachers receive a £150 bonus after full contract completion.
