About the Role

Pierview Academy is a small independent school supporting young people with special educational needs and challenging behaviour. We are seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver engaging lessons to small groups of learners within our Foundation Learning curriculum, covering English, Maths, ICT, vocational learning, and personal and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver lessons that motivate and support learners’ progress.

  • Track and record learner achievement and behaviour.

  • Build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.

  • Guide Learning Support Assistants and promote a positive learning environment.

  • Uphold the school’s ethos of Attendance, Routine, Respect, Relationships, Trust, and Teaching (ARRRT).

  • Ensure individual needs, risk assessments, and support plans are followed.

About You
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.

  • Experience working with young people, ideally with SEND or behavioural needs.

  • Confident in behaviour management and inclusive teaching.

  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to learner success.

  • Willing to undertake relevant training (e.g., Team Teach).
