About the Role – Trainee Ride Technician
Are you practical, hands-on, and passionate about bikes? Looking to kickstart a career in the cycling industry where you can learn by doing? This could be your ideal entry point.
We’re looking for a Trainee Ride Technician to join our growing team in Harleston , working primarily out of our new warehouse facility just around the corner from our retail store. This role is all about getting bikes ready for their new homes—whether that’s a local handover or a courier shipment going across the country.
You’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes engine room of Power2Cycle: prepping sold bikes, completing safety checks (PDIs), packaging bikes securely for dispatch, and helping manage our demo fleet. You’ll also support with occasional in-store customer service, warranty claims, and aftersales care when needed.
While this isn’t a traditional retail workshop job, it’s a vital, fast-paced role at the heart of our customer experience—and there’s real room for growth as we expand.
Learn from the Best
At Power2Cycle, we don’t just sell bikes—we live and breathe them. You’ll have the chance to train alongside a team with over 25 years of combined workshop experience , including mechanics who’ve raced downhill and enduro at national level and worked with leading brands like Trek, Bosch, RockShox, and Fox.
We pride ourselves on doing things the right way—and you’ll be learning from technicians who are among the best in the industry.
What You’ll Do
•Prepare and PDI sold bikes to a high standard
•Package and dispatch bikes for national courier delivery
•Assist with repairs, warranty work, and aftersales servicing ️
•Occasionally support at our Harleston and Norwich stores
•Keep the warehouse organised, clean, and running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
•Enthusiasm for bikes and cycling—especially if you’re curious about how they work
•Practical mindset—you enjoy working with tools and solving problems
•Attention to detail—you take pride in doing things properly
•Willingness to learn and follow structured processes
•Team player who can adapt across warehouse and retail environments
•Good attitude, reliable, and ready to roll up your sleeves
•Experience assembling or working on bikes
•Familiarity with e-bikes, component fitting, or packaging for shipment
•Interest in the technical side of cycling—suspension, diagnostics, sizing
•Local knowledge or interest in community riding
What You’ll Get
•Mentoring from senior technicians with decades of experience
•Training opportunities including Cytech and manufacturer courses
•A chance to grow with a business that’s expanding across East Anglia
•Staff discounts, demo fleet access, and a supportive team environment
This Role in the Power2Cycle Journey
You’ll be part of the essential operations that keep bikes rolling out smoothly to our customers—many of whom order online or remotely. It’s not about standing in a shop all day; it’s about getting hands-on, learning real-world workshop skills, and being a key part of a fast-growing cycling business.
